REFLECTION
Experience:
This semester, I learned about typography, which was completely new to me as I had never encountered it before. Although I was often corrected for mistakes, I truly enjoyed the sense of accomplishment it brought me. Each project taught me different aspects of typography. To complete every task, I had to research a lot of related knowledge, improve my skills, and gain experience, applying all of it to my work. Every week, I received feedback from Ms. Vitiyaa on my designs, pointing out issues that I promptly addressed. I also enjoyed incorporating my unique style into my work to make the designs more interesting. I really appreciated the unique experiences this class brought me, and I hope to apply the knowledge I’ve gained in future projects.
Observations:
During these 14 weeks of learning, I realized the importance of paying attention to every detail, as any issue can disrupt the overall harmony. This is something I concluded as I started using relevant software. I also sought advice from friends on how they addressed these issues, which added a sense of joy to my learning process. Before creating a design, I first observed and analyzed the logical connections and structures between each letter or piece of text. From this, I extracted what I needed to achieve the desired effect in my work.
Findings:
First, the details in design are very important because even one small detail can make the entire layout or composition feel unbalanced. Second, I believe the design process is crucial. It’s through this process that we identify areas where we lack knowledge, learn by researching, and ultimately improve the quality of our work.
Lastly, I want to express my gratitude for these past weeks of learning, which sparked my interest in typography and allowed me to gain valuable knowledge. I hope to continue learning and discovering more unique insights in the future.
