Final Project
Week 10:
This week, we chose tarot cards and requested to create a special effects
video based on the information on the tarot cards.
We were divided into groups of two to make a video. Through the PPT provided
by the teacher, we understood the meaning of our cards.
We are required to conduct research based on the proposal provided in the PPT.
First of all, in this class, we will search for special effects videos and use
AE to produce them.
Here are the special effects videos I'm looking for:
Week 11 :
We have fully understood the main content provided by the card through the last
class. I have delved deeper into the card through the website.
We chose one of the contents as the target of our design and the main story
content for shooting.
Synopsis: If you are both being honest and acting with integrity in your relationship
then you will see the rewards in the form of a period of harmony or a bigger
commitment. It can indicate marriage, representing the marriage contract.
However, if either of you have been dishonest or have cheated, Justice
indicates that the truth will be revealed and whoever has been dishonest
will reap what they have sown.
We began to write our story. We wrote down each shot of the story to provide
us with ideas during the shooting. Below are our shots, a total of seven.
The two girls, A and B, are the closest friends on campus. They chatted
with each other, shared their daily lives, took pictures of each other,
discussed the future in the cafe, and trusted each other. A often praises
B in front of his friends, thinking that she is the most reliable person.
B gave A a small gift that she made with her own hands, which said "Always
here for you". A was very moved and felt that this friendship would last
for a long time. The two people hugged each other, and the scene was warm.
🌀 Story Plot 3 – Act 2: Rising Action (Rift)
One day, A and B went to the restaurant for dinner, and B went to the
toilet. A inadvertently saw the new message from B's mobile phone... B
said something bad about A.
⏳ Story Plot 4 – Act 2 Midpoint: Turning Point (Face)
A chose to face B in the classroom and handed her a screenshot of the
chat. B chose to remain silent and conceal, and then wanted to defend
himself but couldn't say it. The two fell into silence, and the air was
filled with disappointment. A chose to leave in anger.
💥 Story Plot 5 – Cold War
A and B passed by. B wanted to grab A's hand, but A walked away silently.
🌑 Story Plot 6 – Inciting Incident 2: Second Trigger (Awakening)
B came to A to explain. B knew the mistake, and B cried. It turned out
that all this was a misunderstanding. A couldn't bear to forgive B.
🌅Story Plot 7 – Act 3: Ending (Relief and Growth)
A few days later, A and B held hands again and played together on the
playground.
Then we told the gentleman this idea. He thought it was a good one (many
ideas had been rejected before), and then we started to draw our storyboard.
We draw storyboards based on the plot of the story:
Week 12:
This week we are engaged in video shooting, which will last for a week. We
have made multiple shooting and revisions based on the storyboard, carefully
shooting every segment and capturing every best one. The following are the
photos being taken.
I also edited this page and successfully created a tear-off effect.
We edited the videos. We put all the videos in and then made relevant edits.
During this week, we showed our videos to the teacher and he gave us
suggestions. At first, the teacher thought that the sequence of the videos
we designed couldn't make the viewers understand the meaning. Later, we
adjusted the sequence of the videos. I showed my revision assignment to the
gentleman again and received his approval. The following is the process of
my editing.
Week 14:
During this week, we carried out the final PPT design, put our files into
Google Drive, and then in the last week, we showed our final video to the
gentleman, who gave us suggestions for revision. Let's slow down when the
information pops up, allowing the information to be fully seen. Then, when
we have an argument, there's no need for a final turn around, and we just
remove it. After we have revised these two parts, the video can basically be
considered completed.
We checked the homework for the gentleman. He pointed out to us that
the sequence of our story was hard for people to understand, so it was very
important to adjust the sequence so that the viewers could understand.
Week 14:
This week, we went to check the final video of our project for the
gentleman. He said that the information pop-up part of our video needs to be
changed. The time needs to be extended because it is too short and the
viewers have no readability. So we made improvements. During the quarrel in
the middle, the gentleman told us that turning around and leaving was
superfluous and needed to be removed.
Reflections:
In my opinion, doing homework in groups is a very interesting thing. At the very beginning, we didn't make a complete plan, so there were difficulties when doing the group tasks earlier. But after the two of us actively discussed, we finally solved all the problems. If one person finishes the special effects video, it is a very difficult thing. Because we need to do a lot of preparatory work, we have to search for a large amount of video and audio. This is a huge workload for one person. During the production process, we also encountered many problems, such as the inability to create special effects, the failure to achieve the desired effect during shooting, and the misalignment of video and audio when editing the video. We actively solved all these problems. Fortunately, Finally, we produced a video that satisfied us.
